Treats of Happiness 2: Make A Change PH and G&D Blog Collaboration for a Cause
If you can remember, one of our main reasons here on this blog is to do our best to join some volunteer programs or outreach events for us to have a chance to give back to some communities. And this is what we were able to do last December of 2017 when we visited my home country, Philippines- our first collaboration event for a cause.
David and I collaborated with Angel Rhayne of Make A Change PH, a Non-profit Organization composed of warmhearted individuals whose aim is to work together in making a difference by sharing skills, time, help and kinds to others.
Since David and I made our plan to visit the Philippines last December, I asked Angel Rhayne if we could work with her to help a community. She suggested to have a “Year 2” for her “Treats of Happiness” event. This Make A Change PH event was last October of 2016 at the National Children’s Hospital, where she invited volunteers such as cosplayers and magicians to perform for the children. This happened at the children’s cancer ward.
So, we started this GoFundMe Campaign #GDBlogHelps to collect some donations from our friends and family, and our first outreach event was with Make A Change PH- Treats of Happiness Year 2.
We were able to collect $600 which is 30,216.83 PHP.
With all the funds that we collected, we’re able to give little happiness to these children and their guardians that day.
- Antibiotics for children with cancer
- Food for the patients, social services, and volunteers
- We’re also able to help some children who needed urgent laboratory tests.
- Some funds were also donated to an Iraya Mangyan scholar. This will be good for 4 months to cover all of the scholar’s expenses like school supplies, etc.

“No act of kindness is too small. Making the world a better place should start with us, with one step, with small help. Let’s make a BIG Difference.” – Make A Change PH

Angel Rhayne of Make A Change PH, David and I would like to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH to those who supported us in this amazing collaboration for a cause. We’re able to see different emotions from the volunteers while sharing happiness to these children and their guardians.
To be honest, it’s heart-breaking to see those kids who were sufferring while we were trying our best to put some smiles on their faces. Our main goal was to use that little time to give them hope. To tell them that, “Hey bud! Come on, keep on fighting! You’re a superhero! You’re gonna win this battle!”.
